Chandrababu Naidu raised the issue
Controversy on the making of laddoos stirred when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday accused the previous YSR government headed by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of using animal fats and substandard ingredients in making the Tirupati laddoos.
Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly reacted
Jagan Reddy reacting to Naidu’s comment had labelled his allegations as malicious and said that the latter’s comments are hurtful to the Hindu sentiments and the crores of devotees of Lord Tirupati. He further added that with this, Naidu has proven that he won’t hesitate to say anything for politics. Challenging the current CM of Andhra, he also stated that he and his family are ready to swear for the purity of Tirumala Prasad, will Chandrababu Naidu also do so?
Biggest trust, oldest temple
The adulteration of ghee used in Tirupati Laddoos came as a shocking update as the laboratory report confirmed the same. Tirupati temple is one of the oldest temples in India holding the beliefs of millions of devotees. It also has the biggest temple trust in India. Adulteration of beef fat and fish oil in the ghee used to make the laddoos to offer at the holy temple has sent shockwaves amongst people across India.
Reacting to the lab report, the BJP MLA T Raja Singh said, “It has come to light that beef fat and fish oil are being used in the sacred Tirupati Laddu prasadam under the governance of YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh. This is a direct assault on our rich cultural and religious heritage, which cannot and should not be tolerated.”
Andhra CM Chandrababu Naidu has however stated that now under his government, the quality of ingredients is taken care of and the products used in making the pious prasad are of good quality in his government.
