Tirupati Laddu Row: Amul filed an FIR against a false claim that it supplied ghee with ‘animal fat’ to the Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh, according to a senior executive from the Gujarat-based dairy company.
Ghee at the Tirupati temple in Andhra Pradesh was adulterated, said Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation’s, parent company of Amul. An attempt was also being made to give a blow to the reputation of the ghee by saying that it was an Amul product, he told ANI.
