Three Border Security Force jawans lost their lives and thirty two were severely injured on Friday when the bus they were travelling in fell into in gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district, the police stated.

A Driver Also Got Injured In Budgam Mishap
Besides the BSF jawans, a civilian driver also got injured in the mishap. According to PTI, over a dozen BSF troopers were left injured when their bus, taking them for election duty in the second phase of assembly polls, crashed near Brel of Watarhaal. The officials said some of the jawans are in critical condition and have been admitted to a local hospital for treatment.
The Incident Happened During J&K Elections
This incident happened during the long-awaited elections in Jammu and Kashmir, where voting is taking place in three phases for 90 assembly seats. The first phase was held on September 18 for 24 seats, the second phase is scheduled for September 25, 2024, comprising 26 seats, and the third and last phase will be conducted on October 1 for the remaining 40 seats.
