Threatening messages targeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal were discovered inside metro train coaches at a minimum of two stations.

Images of the messages appeared on social media, showing several written on the walls of metro coaches and at least two on signboards at Patel Nagar and Rajiv Chowk metro stations. Many of the images also included an Instagram handle, but it remains unclear whether the messages were initially posted from that account.

A senior police officer stated that they have received information about the matter and have launched an investigation into it. A team has been deployed to locate the metro coach on which the messages were written.

The AAP has accused the BJP of being responsible for the incident and claimed that the saffron party is rattled by the prospect of losing in all seven constituencies in Delhi in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at a press briefing on Monday, AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi said that the BJP is “hatching different conspiracies” to target her party supremo due to their impending defeat, according to news agency PTI.

The AAP leader claimed that a man had written the messages on the walls of three stations: Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, and Patel Nagar. Atishi criticized the Delhi Police for not taking action against the incident.

AAP leader Sanjay Singh backed his colleague Atishi in accusing the BJP of plotting an attack on Arvind Kejriwal. At a press conference on Monday in Delhi, Singh asserted that the threatening messages were part of a conspiracy “orchestrated directly from the Prime Minister’s Office.”
