Temple leaders have been called upon to take the newly issued guidelines very seriously. The measures for consequences are now in place for punishment of anyone captured on camera in a temple using plastic. There are fines provided for punishments, and in extreme cases criminal cases will be filed against the individual.
Conversely, the capital city of Karnataka will have a Dry Day on August 15 as the day is Dry Day; the sale of liquor or alcoholic beverages will be restricted for 48 hours from Friday to Saturday, as August 16 will be Janmashtami and there will be a prohibition on the sale of alcohol.
The authorities are also employing preventive and precautionary measures to keep law and order due to public and religious events that attract hundreds of thousands of people in and around the city. The authorities are expecting undesired incidents, and will have more control over the celebratory activities and restrict events.
