The Maha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, is one of the most anticipated religious gatherings in Sanatan Dharma. While millions of devotees journey to the mela to take a dip in the sacred waters of the Triveni Sangam, many others are unable to attend for various reasons.
However, due to social media, devotees can now experience the event virtually, and food delivery apps have made it possible to receive Mahaprasad at home.
Food delivery app Waayu has partnered with Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) to fulfill an estimated 1.5 crore Mahaprasad orders, with a special focus on shudh desi ghee Besan Ladoo from Maha Kumbh 2025.
According to the app, devotees can expect to receive their Mahaprasad within seven days of placing their order. Additionally, those passing through Prayagraj Railway Station can also receive Mahaprasad directly during their travels, ensuring that even those far from the mela can also take prasad.
This year, the Maha Kumbh Mela began on January 13 and will continue until February 26, 2025. Despite the massive crowds at the mela, devotees from distant places can now access Mahaprasad offerings from the cities of Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Varanasi.
