The successful organization of the divine, grand, and clean Kumbh Mela held in the Sangam city of Prayagraj in 2025, thanks to the efforts of the Yogi government, which is being applauded globally.

Following the grand and divine 'Mahakumbh' 2025, Prayagraj has gained international recognition. The increasing number of tourists is a testament to this. Prayagraj's Regional Tourism Officer, Aparajita Singh, states that the number of tourists in Prayagraj was 31,933,758 in 2020, which is now increased to 11,213,496 in 2021, 26,047,166 in 2022, 50,671,622 in 2023, 51,262,806 in 2024, and 6,821,50806 from January to September 2025.

The Tourism Department is delighted by this tsunami of tourists in the Sangam city. This year, 12 to 15 crore pilgrims are expected to arrive in the Sangam city for the Maagh Mela, which will begin on January 3, 2026, and last for 44 days. In view of this, four temporary information tourism centres are being established for the Maagh Mela.
These Tourism Information Centres, being established by the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, will have information booklets on all major tourist destinations in Prayagraj available in both Hindi and English, which will also be made available in digital format. The information centre will also include a guidebook, a list of trained guides will also be available to provide tourism information to tourists.
