'Thank You Modi Ji'; Rahul Gandhi Praises PM Modi For Visiting Landslide-Affected Wayanad

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi arrives in Kerala, will visit landslide-hit areas of Wayanad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Wayanad district in Kerala on Saturday to assess the recent landslide damage, which has resulted in at least 226 deaths. Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, praised Modi’s decision to visit the disaster area and expressed hope that the prime minister would declare it a national disaster after seeing the damage firsthand. Gandhi posted on X, “Thank you, Modi ji, for visiting Wayanad to personally assess the terrible tragedy. This is a good decision.”

The former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said, “I am sure that after the Prime Minister sees the damage up close, he will declare it a national disaster.” Modi’s visit will include flying over the affected areas, meeting with rescue teams, and talking to survivors in relief camps and hospitals.

Modi To Review Relief Efforts And Meet Survivors In Landslide-Hit Wayanad

On Saturday, Modi will visit Wayanad district in Kerala to review the relief and rehabilitation efforts and meet with survivors. Officials said he will arrive in Kannur around 11 am and then take an aerial tour of the areas affected by the landslides in Wayanad.

During Modi’s visit, rescue teams will update him on the evacuation efforts. The prime minister will also go to relief camps and hospitals to meet with the landslide survivors, according to the officials.

Modi will hold a review meeting where he will receive detailed updates on the incidents and ongoing relief efforts. At least 226 people have died, and many are still missing after landslides struck the region on July 30, marking one of the worst natural disasters in Kerala’s history.

Gandhi, the MP from Rae Bareli in Uttar Pradesh, previously represented Wayanad in the Lok Sabha.
