In a significant breakthrough against terror networks in south Kashmir, Awantipora Police, in a joint cordon and search operation (CASO) with Army's 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and CRPF's 185 Battalion, arrested a key terrorist associate and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession at Wuyan Khrew, in South Kashmir.
The accused, identified as Javid Ahmad Hajam, son of Abdul Rashid Hajam and a resident of Gulab Bagh, Tral, was apprehended during the search. From his possession, security forces recovered one pistol along with five live rounds.
