Terror associate nabbed in Khrew, South Kashmir; Pistol, ammo seized in joint operation

The accused, identified as Javid Ahmad Hajam, son of Abdul Rashid Hajam and a resident of Gulab Bagh, Tral, was apprehended during the search. From his possession, security forces recovered one pistol along with five live rounds.

In a significant breakthrough against terror networks in south Kashmir, Awantipora Police, in a joint cordon and search operation (CASO) with Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and CRPF’s 185 Battalion, arrested a key terrorist associate and recovered arms and ammunition from his possession at Wuyan Khrew, in South Kashmir.

The accused, identified as Javid Ahmad Hajam, son of Abdul Rashid Hajam and a resident of Gulab Bagh, Tral, was apprehended during the search. From his possession, security forces recovered one pistol along with five live rounds.

Official sources revealed that Hajam was actively involved in providing logistics support and transporting arms and ammunition to active terrorists operating in the Pampore, Tral, and Awantipora areas of South Kashmir. His arrest is expected to disrupt terror supply lines in the area.

A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at the Awantipora police station, and investigations are underway to uncover further links in the terror ecosystem.
