Telangana police sub-inspector Bhavani Sen was arrested and suspended on Wednesday after allegedly raping a woman soldier at gunpoint, police said.
The incident took place on June 16 in the guest room of an irrigation project residence in the Jayashankar Bhupalpally area.
The victim, who also works in the Kaleswaram police station, complained to the higher authorities. In her complaint, she stated that SI Sen threatened her with a service revolver before raping her and then warned her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident.
Based on the complaint, the police launched an investigation that confirmed the allegations and led to immediate and severe disciplinary action against the SI.

Apart from dismissal, relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been ordered against SI Sen, a senior police official confirmed.
The incident came to light on Wednesday when the survivor approached Jayashankar Bhupalpally SP Kiran Khare. The survivor is a female constable of Kaleshwaram police station in Bhupalpally district.
After the incident, the survivor reached her residence at the mandal headquarters and narrated her ordeal to her husband on Tuesday. The couple then rushed to the SP office and informed Kiran Khare. The woman soldier then filed a written complaint against the SI.
According to sources, the SP immediately sent Bhupalpally DSP A Sampath Rao to investigate the case. On Tuesday evening, the DSP reached the Kaleshwaram police station, seized Goudi’s service revolver, and arrested him.
