Hyderabad: YSR Telangana Party leader and sister of Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy ‘YS Sharmila’ was detained on Monday after she slapped male police personnel and manhandled other police personnel during a protest.
The incident took place when police stopped Ms Sharmila on her way to the office of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged leak of paper for recruitment exams conducted by the Telangana government.

The K Chandrashekhar Rao government has been facing widespread protests by the opposition over the alleged leak of question papers for recruitment exams conducted by the State Public Service Commission.
Ms Sharmila has been vocal against the KCR government over the paper leak issue. She is pushing hard to carve an independent political identity in Telangana.
The daughter of former Andhra Chief Minister YS Rajshekahr Reddy, Ms Sharmila recently held a march across Telangana to fill energy in party workers.
