Telangana: 7 Maoists Killed In Police Encounter In Mulugu District

Mulugu SP Shabarish said that the exchange of fire occurred in the Eturnagaram forest area.

Telangana: At least seven Maoists including two state committee members were reportedly killed in an encounter with police on Sunday morning in Telangana’s Mulugu district. The encounter took place shortly after Maoists hacked two tribals to death, branding them as police informers, reports stated.

Mulugu SP Shabarish said that the exchange of fire occurred in the Eturnagaram forest area. “Seven Maoists died in a police encounter at Eturnagaram forest area,” SP Shabarish said.
The officials said that a search operation is ongoing in the area. Further details are awaited.

During an area domination exercise by Telangana Greyhounds, an anti-naxal commando unit, in the Eturunagaram area, they encountered the Maoists movement. This resulted in an exchange of fire between the Police and Maoists.

The dead bodies were identified as –

Telangana state committee secretary Kursam Mangu alias Bhadru

Divisional Committee member Egolapu Mallaiah

Area committee members Mussaki Deval and M Jamuna

Party members Jai Singh, Kishore, and Kamesh
