Jaunpur: A 40-year-old land conflict turned deadly in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, where a 17-year-old boy was killed in a gruesome attack. On Wednesday, clashes over the disputed land erupted in Kabiruddin village under the jurisdiction of Gaurabadshahpur police station, ending in a tragic loss of life.
A Mother’s Grief and Shock
In a scene that left the village in shock, the young boy’s grieving mother sat with his severed head in her lap for hours, mourning her son in heartbreaking silence as onlookers gathered around. The incident left residents and family members devastated.
Attack Over Long-Standing Dispute
The victim, identified as Anurag, son of Ramjeet Yadav, was chased by a group of men involved in the clash. One of the attackers, wielding a sword, delivered a fatal blow that resulted in the decapitation of the teenager. While two suspects have been taken into custody, the main perpetrator remains on the run, with police actively searching for him.

Officials Take Control and Ensure Order
Several police teams were quickly deployed to the scene to prevent further escalation of tensions. Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma described the conflict as an unresolved issue spanning over four decades. “Ramesh and Laalta from one party were involved in the attack, leading to a fatal outcome,” he said. Both Sharma and the District Magistrate were on site to oversee the investigation and security measures.
Assurance of Justice for the Victim’s Family
Jaunpur District Magistrate Dinesh Chandra stated that those responsible will face the “harshest-possible punishment.” He also noted that the land dispute is currently pending in civil court, with an immediate report requested within three days to facilitate the investigation and bring justice to the grieving family.
