Two MPs from the NDA ally, Andhra Pradesh’s TDP will take oath on Sunday evening as union ministers, along with Narendra Modi, who will be sworn in as prime minister for the third time.
Srikakulam MP, Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, and Guntur MP, Dr. Pemmasani Chandrsekhar, are to take oath in Modi’s cabinet 2024. The BJP leadership has assured the TDP of inducting two more ministers during the union cabinet expansion in the coming days. Consequently, the TDP is slated to receive a total of four union cabinet berths. However, another ally, Jana Sena, will not be allocated any positions in the union cabinet this time.

Ram Mohan Naidu, aged 36, is expected to be appointed as a union minister or granted independent charge, while Chandrasekhar is likely to be appointed as Minister of State (MoS).
Dr. Pemmasani Chandrsekhar, a first-time MP, is possibly the wealthiest among new MPs, with family assets worth Rs 5,785.28 crore. A doctor turned entrepreneur, at 47, he entered politics for the first time in 2024. Alongside his wife, Koneru Sriratna, they jointly own shares in close to 100 global companies.

Dr. Chandrasekhar, from the influential Kammas group, earned his master’s in the US before returning to India with a focus on societal contributions. Initially eyeing a TDP ticket from Narasaraopet, he was redirected by party leader N. Chandrababu Naidu to contest from Guntur, aligning with Naidu’s vision for Amaravati’s development.
