Five people were injured in a road crash in Ambarnath, Mumbai on August 20, 2024. The accident occurred on the Ambernath-Badlapur road when a Tata Safari, driven by a family member, rammed into a Fortuner owned by another family member post-argument. The collision involved three motorcyclists. Police proceeded to the scene, and the injured were rushed to hospitals in Ambernath and Ulhasnagar. They are looking into the family dispute that led to the crash.
Family Dispute Leads To Road Accident
Police said the man at the wheel of the Tata Safari and his wife had developed differences between them, and the former was supported by his father a retired Defence officer who lived in Mumbai with his wife, and another son. The father and the other son came to Badlapur from Mumbai, seeking to resolve the dispute between the son and his wife but things flared up badly.

Tata Safari Hits Fortuner In Dispute
The footage shows how the Tata Safari being driven by the Ambarnath-resident first knocked a man, proceeded to reverse, and finally hit the parked Fortuner SUV on video footage of the incident in a viral video. In the process, three people on motorcycles were hit from behind by the car.
Soon after the incident, the police and locals reached the spot; a rescue operation had begun by then. The injured were taken to hospices in Ambernath and Ulhasnagar.
The police did confirm that the Tata Safari vehicle driver was among the Sharma family and the incident injured four others. The police are investigating into the accidentality of the dispute and the accident to see what legal action can be taken.
