In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old woman dentist was brutally assaulted by a male doctor, Dr. Anbu Selvan (38) in Hosur, after she repeatedly rejected his marriage proposals. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at the Hosur Government Hospital. She has been admitted with multiple injuries to her face, neck, arms, and other parts of her body. The authorities have launched a formal investigation into case.
Victim Demands Justice
The victim, identified as Dr. Krithika, has demanded justice for the deeply disturbing incident. Speaking to ANI from her hospital bed, Dr. Krithika said, “He kept forcing me to marry him even after I said no many times. I never imagined he would turn violent. I want justice for what I went through.”
Krithika, daughter of Maheswaran (58), a forest department employee lives in Sanasandiram near Hosur in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district. She had recently completed her dental studies and joined a private dental clinic located opposite the Hosur Government Hospital on Denkanikottai Road.
About 20 days after she started work, Krithika was approached by Dr. Anbu Selvan, the owner of the clinic. He allegedly proposed marriage to her, which Krithika rejected at once, stating she wasn’t interested. After this incident, Selvan reportedly stopped pursing her until the day of the incident.
She further stated that on the day of the incident, Selvan once again brought up the topic of marriage and took her on a two-wheeler to the Patthala Palli area. He pressurised her to accept his marriage proposal. However, as she declined his offer once again, he started harassing her, demanding to tell her the reason for refusal.
As the situation escalated, the doctor allegedly assaulted her. “Once inside, he forcibly took my mobile phone, gold chain, bracelet, and watch and assaulted me further,” the victim said.
Krithika added that she was rescued by her colleagues and staff members, who intervened and stopped the attack. Her mother rushed to the clinic after she found her phone switched off and learned about the assault.
According to the police, preliminary investigations have revealed that Dr Selvan is already married and currently separated from his wife. He hails from Thattakal village near Sathanur.
