Fake NCC Camp Rape Case: The prime accused in a case of sexual assault and harassment of school girls at a fake NCC camp in Krishnagiri died under distressing circumstances. Sivaraman died early on Friday hours after he attempted suicide by consuming rat poison. ‘Sivaraman had consumed the rat poison on August 16 and 18, days before his proposed arrest,’ said Krishnagiri District SP P. Thangadurai.

Fake NCC Camp Rape Case Details

Sivaraman was admitted to the Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital Wednesday night for treatment after his suicide attempt. This attempt came in the wake of his arrest for arranging a fraud NCC camp where he sexually abused several young girls. The fake camp used as a front for his criminal activities had no affiliation with the real NCC.

The NCW has acted immediately and suo motu has taken cognisance of the case. NCW’s action followed a media report, showing the exploitation of about 12 girls from the fake NCC camp in Krishnagiri. The Commission has directed the Director General of Police, Chennai, to ensure that the investigation into the matter is carried out effectively and time-bound.

NCW’s Action And Ongoing Investigation

NCW has demanded an impartial inquiry into the matter to be conducted as quickly as possible so that justice may be delivered in the quickest possible time. The commission also wanted all the relevant acts to be applied to those found guilty. The NCC responded to the allegations, saying it had nothing to do with the fake camp, nor did the person have any valid connection with the institution.

Developments At Present

Eleven people, including Sivaraman, were arrested in the case on Monday. Krishnagiri District Collector KM Sarayu confirmed that the arrests were in connection with the probe into the abuse scandal. The district administration has also clarified that the NCC was not linked to the fraudulent camp.
