Tamil Nadu: Conductor Applies Brakes With Hands After Driver Suffers Heart Attack On Moving Bus

Officials said at least 35 passengers were travelling in the bus. In a video clip, the driver is seen collapsed on his seat while the bus continued to move.

A conductor saved the lives of several passengers by applying brakes with his hands of a moving bus after the driver suffered a heart attack in Tamil Nadu’s Dindigul. The driver lost his life on the spot.

Bus Carried At Least 35 Passengers at the Time

According to NDTV, officials said at least 35 passengers were travelling in the bus. In a video clip, the driver is seen collapsed on his seat while the bus continued to move.

After seeing the driver collapse, the conductor rushed to the driver’s seat and quickly applied the brakes with his hands. 

A few passengers rushed towards the driver to rescue him

After the bus came to a sudden halt, a woman seated in front was thrown from her seat. A few curious passengers left their seats to inquire what had caused the abrupt stop while a few rushed towards the driver to rescue him. 

Five killed in bus-van collision in Thanjavur

On May 22, At least five people lost their lives in a collision between a government bus and a private tempo van. The accident took place on Wednesday night near the Sengkippatti bridge on the Thanjavur- Tiruchirapalli national highway, as per the Thanjavur District Collector Priyanka Balasubramanian.

Five workers lost their lives in Sivaganga

In another accident in Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu, five workers lost their lives while one was left seriously injured in a rockslide at a stone quarry operated by Mega Blue Metal in Mallakottai near SS Kottai on May 22.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased.
