Tamil Nadu: Five students lost their lives and two others sustained injuries in a fatal road accident near Tiruttani in Tiruvallur district, as reported by the KK Chatram police on Monday. The students were traveling on the Chennai-Tirupati National Highway when their car collided with a lorry.

Details Of The Incident
The accident occurred when eight individuals, including seven students from a private university in Chennai and the driver, were traveling in the car. The vehicle lost control and collided head-on with a lorry while they were returning to Chennai after visiting temples in Tiruvannamalai and Andhra Pradesh. Five students died instantly, and three others, including the driver, were seriously injured.
Victims Identified, Investigation Underway
The deceased have been identified as Kurdan (21), Yukesh, Nitish, Nitish Verma, and Ramkoman, all from Andhra Pradesh. The injured students, Chaitanya (21) and Vishnu (21), have been admitted to a private hospital. The victims were in their third year of studying CSC Data Science (Computer Engineering) at SRM College, Chennai (Tamil Nadu).

The KK Chatram police have confirmed that the investigation into the accident is ongoing. The cause of the accident is still under scrutiny, with preliminary findings pointing to loss of control of the vehicle before it collided with the lorry.
