Tamil Actor Vijay Eyes 2026 Elections As His Party TVK Receives EC Recognition

Thalapathy Vijay declared the news of TVK's formation back in February, emphasizing the party will work towards 'fundamental political reform' with transparent, caste, and corruption-free governance.

Popular Tamil Actor Vijay announced on Sunday that his politicial party ‘Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam’ (TVK) has been officially recognised by the Election Commission. He informed, “We filed application for our party’s recognition with the EC on February 2.”

The Election Commission has now officially registered TVK and validated the party to participate in political elections after legally reviewing the petition, he stated.

Thalapathy Vijay Announces TVK’s Formation

Thalapathy Vijay declared the news of TVK’s formation back in February, emphasizing the party will work towards fundamental political reform with ‘transparent, caste, and corruption-free governance’. The Tamil actor who enjoys a huge fan base in many southern states, including Tamil Nadu and Kerala, underscored that his party would commit to social equity.

Vijay Unveils TVK’s New Flag And Symbol

Vijay revealed TVK’s new flag and symbol, two weeks back. The flag features red and maroon colour on the top and bottom, with a yellow center highlighting two elephants facing each other and a Vaagai flower. He also unveiled the party’s national anthem complementing the newly introduced flag across social media handles of TVK.

Vijay Urges TVK Members To Prepare For State-Level Meetings

Vijay urged his party members to prepare for the upcoming state-level meetings on Sunday, following Election Commission’s recognition. He also announced about his plans to contest and win the 2026 Assembly Polls.
