New Delhi: Ahead of Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled this year, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Monday said the party will bring relief to the people from inflation if voted to power in the state.
While appealing for the votes, the AAP chief mentioned the Delhi Model and said, “We made medical treatment, water, electricity free in Delhi. We’re able to do all this as we’ve ended corruption. We’ve not increased any tax. I appeal central government to withdraw the increased GST. Make AAP government here in Himachal Pradesh, we will give you relief from inflation.”
Said, the Delhi CM: “Our new government was formed in Punjab and electricity became free from 1st July. Can anyone believe? The previous governments used to say ‘Punjab is running in losses’ and we made Bijli free as soon as we arrived, even built 75 Mohalla Clinics. This can happen in Himachal also.”
The Delhi Chief Minister was accompanied by his Punjab counterpart, Bhagwant Mann. While addressing the party in Solan, the two ministers said, “AAP is spreading all over the country and hence many problems will come. But you don’t have to worry. We want you to make an honest government in Himachal Pradesh. We should take our state and country forward.”
The AAP’s top officials were in Solan for administering oath to 9,193 office bearers of AAP in Himachal Pradesh.
Reacting to which, CM Kejriwal said, “Within a few months, the AAP family in Himachal Pradesh has become so big. More than 9000 office bearers are taking oath today. Today we will take an oath that we will serve the people of Himachal with whole body, mind and wealth. If needed, we will even give our lives for our country.”
