Will Afzal Guru’s ghost haunt the Aam Aadmi Party when it goes to polls in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election? Will the BJP make it a political issue to attack the party led by Arvind Kejriwal? Will the ghost of the terrorist haunt the Indian state once again? These questions popped up after Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal raked up the issue and accused Atishi’s parents of supporting the terrorist, who had planned the attack on the Indian Parliament.
Allegation By Swati Maliwal
Right after, Delhi Minister Atishi was chosen over Kailash Gahlot to become the next Chief Minister of Delhi, Swati Maliwal has slammed the Aam Aadmi Party’s decision and expressed her discontent on this.
After AAP chose Atishi as the next Delhi CM, Maliwal took to social media, where she strongly criticized Atishi’s appointment as the Delhi CM. Taking to social media platform X, she said, “Today is a very sad day for Delhi,” and wrote, Atishi’s parents, along with other activists and professors, had signed a mercy petition for Afzal Guru.
Swati Maliwal’s Tweet
Maliwal tweeted “A woman whose family fought to prevent terrorist Afzal Guru’s execution is now being made the Chief Minister of Delhi. Her parents submitted mercy petitions to the Honorable President, arguing that Afzal Guru was innocent and had been framed in a political conspiracy.”
