On the sacred occasion of Navratri, Swami Ramdev Maharaj celebrated his 31st Sannyas Diwas with a grand Vedic Yagna, religious rituals, and Kanya Pujan at the Yoga Bhavan auditorium in Patanjali Wellness, Phase- II. Acharya Balkrishna adorned Swami Ramdev with a garland, extending heartfelt wishes on his 31st Sannyas anniversary.
A Journey of 31 Years in Sannyas
Swami Ramdev expressed his gratitude, stating, “Today, I have completed 30 years as a sanyasi and entered the 31st year of my spiritual journey.”
Patanjali Yogpeeth: A Symbol of Cultural and Spiritual Growth
Highlighting the mission of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Swami Ramdev emphasized that the role of a sanyasi is to fulfill the duties of Yoga Dharma, Rashtra Dharma, Seva Dharma, and Yuga Dharma—bringing health, prosperity, and cultural values to the nation. Acharya Balkrishna praised Swami Ramdev for glorifying Indian culture, traditions, and values worldwide through his spiritual journey.
Religious Procession and Brahmacharya Diksha
A grand procession was organized, with revered sanyasis, Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna, and Yogaacharya Swami Lal Ji Maharaj leading the way. The procession reached the sacred banks of the Ganges, where six learned brothers and one learned sister were initiated into Naishthik Brahmacharya (strict celibacy).

In the special Navratri event, Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna extended warm wishes for Navratri and Ram Navami to all citizens. They performed Kanya Pujan, washing the feet of young girls and offering them food, seeking divine blessings. Swami Ramdev emphasized, “India is the land of Sanatan culture, sage traditions, Vedic heritage, and divine energies like Ram, Krishna, and Adi Shakti. Let us eliminate darkness and ignorance, and cultivate virtues like Lord Ram within us.”
Navratri’s Sacred Significance in Indian Culture
Acharya Balkrishna highlighted the special place of Navratri in Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma. He said, “May Maa Bhawani bless everyone with health, prosperity, and joy. Through this nine-day ritual, we offer our prayers to overcome our flaws and negative tendencies. Navratri is a vital part of India’s rich heritage, and it is our duty to preserve its sanctity and scientific essence.”
The event was a beautiful blend of spirituality, tradition, and cultural pride, celebrating the eternal legacy of Indian values and the transformative power of yoga.
