With Mahayuti’s resounding victory in the Maharashtra Assembly Elections, all eyes are now on the next Chief Minister of the state. Three days have passed since the announcement of the election results, and people are awaiting the name of the new CM. The BJP has won 132 seats while its allies- the Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde won 57 seats, and the NCP, led by Ajit Pawar, won 41 seats. Seeing the number of seats secured by the BJP, it’s been anticipated that the new CM will be from the BJP and Devendra Fadnavis is most likely to be that candidate.

The delay in the announcement of CM’s name has been questioned by several parties and their leaders.

Answer Soon Says Fadnavis On CM Face

On being asked about the CM face, Former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said, “The answer to this will be given soon. All senior members of the 3 parties of Mahayuti are taking a decision on this together.”

We Are Not Uddhav Thackeray…Says Shiv Sena MP

While the official announcement is yet to be made by the Mahayuti, when asked about whether Shiv Sena will accept Devendra Fadnavis as Maharashtra CM, Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske nodded.

Speaking to News 18, Mhaske said his camp would accept Devendra Fadnavis as the chief minister of Maharashtra if the same is decided by Mahayuti. He also claimed Eknath Shinde was not upset over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s choice for Fadnavis.

“We are not Uddhav Thackeray who will go away if we are not given the chief minister post,” he added.

Deepak Kesarkar: Good Decision Will Be Taken

Another Shiv Sena leader, Deepak Kesarkar affirmed that the decision taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be acceptable to him.

He said, “CM Shinde has clearly said that whatever decision PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah take, it will be acceptable to him.” Kesarkar stressed that a good decision will be taken after the discussion. “All three leaders are discussing together, a good decision will be taken when they discuss with, he added.

Sanjay Shirsat: We Want The CM To Be From Shiv Sena

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Shirsat has demanded that the CM should be from Shiv Sena. He said, “We want the CM to be from Shiv Sena. We fought the election under the leadership of CM Eknath Shinde and I believe that top leaders will also bless him. You will be able to see the new government in Maharashtra maximum by December 2. The swearing-in ceremony will be organised on a grand scale, so I think it is likely to be held at the Wankhede Stadium.”
