Karnataka CM Suspense: Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar will go to Delhi today amidst the ongoing uproar over the decision of the Chief Minister of Karnataka. Congress leader Siddaramaiah had reached Delhi on Monday, while Shivakumar stayed back in Bengaluru due to a stomach infection.
Congress karnataka President DK Shivakumar and Congress leader Siddaramaiah with other frontrunner for the CM’s post on Tuesday will meet Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge. Top two contenders to the top had been called to Delhi to disuss Karnataka leadership, However, Shivakumar had stayed behind in Bengaluru citing a stomach infection.
Congress wins 135 seats
The Congress has won 135 seats and defeated BJP with thumping majority. According to Sorces, kharge consulted Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra before the announcement of Karnataka CM.
Chief ministerial face
Karnataka’s AICC observers Sushil Kumar Shinde, Deepak Bawariya and Jitendra Singh besides Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary attended a meeting on the chief ministerial face. Earlier, observers have handed over the complete report of talks with party MLAs in Bengaluru to Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday evening. After this, Kharge said that he will soon take a decision regarding the CM face.
It is noted that the newly elected Karnataka Congress MLAs unanimously passed a resolution on Sunday authorizing party chief Mallikarjun Kharge to elect the leader of the Congress Legislature Party.
Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar said, ‘I have stomach infection and I will not go to Delhi today. The Congress has 135 MLAs. I don’t have any MLA. I have left the decision to the party high command. He also wished Siddaramaiah.
AICC in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Surjewala has said that Mallikarjun Kharge will not take much time and the name of the next Chief Minister of Karnataka will be announced soon.
