An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 hit Myanmar on Tuesday morning, whose tremors were felt in several parts across India, including Manipur, Nagaland, and Assam. The earthquake struck Myanmar near the India-Myanmar border. It was 27 km southeast of Ukhrul in Manipur. The National Center for Seismology reported that it happened at 6:10 am on Tuesday, September 30.
The earthquake struck at a depth of 15 km, with exact coordinates of 24.73°N latitude and 94.63°E longitude, according to the NCS. It was located 155 km south-southeast of Wokha, 159 km southeast of Dimapur, and 177 km south of Mokokchung in Nagaland, as well as 171 km northeast of Ngopa and 193 km northeast of Champhai in Mizoram.
Earlier, on the night between Monday and Tuesday at around 12:09 am on September 30, a magnitude 3.4 earthquake hit Satara in Maharashtra. The quake occurred at a depth of 5 km, about 91 km northwest of Kolhapur.
