Still Haven’t Updated Your Aadhaar? Free Update Deadline Ends On June 14- Step-By-Step Guide To Do It Online!

You can still update your Aadhaar after the deadline, but it will require a payment. To take advantage of the free update, you must update your Aadhaar before the deadline- June 14.

If you haven’t updated your Aadhaar card yet, you should know that the free update facility is available only until June 14, 2025. Last year, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) announced that Aadhaar cardholders could update their information free of cost before this deadline.

According to the Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Regulations, 2016, it is mandatory for individuals to update their Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) every 10 years from the date of enrolment.

What Happens After The Deadline?

You can still update your Aadhaar after the deadline, but it will require a payment. To take advantage of the free update, you must update your Aadhaar before the deadline- June 14. Additionally, individuals will need to visit an Aadhaar centre in person to update their information.

If you haven’t updated your Aadhaar details in the last 10 years, you can do it for free using the myAadhaar website. This way, you don’t have to pay the usual ₹50 fee or visit an Aadhaar centre. The online process is simple and quick.

How To Update Aadhaar Card Details For Free Before June 14, 2025

  • Open the website- https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
  • Now, click on the blue login button and enter your Aadhaar card number and the captcha
  • You will get a one-time password (OTP)
  • While logging into the portal, check your existing address and validate identity proof and other details
  • If not updated, click on the “Document Update” option on the top right of the page
  • From the drop-down menu, choose the documents you want to update
  • Upload the corresponding files
  • Once done, review and submit your documents
  • You will be getting a Service Request Number (SRN)- which helps track the update progress of your request.

The website only accepts files in JPEG, PNG, or PDF format. Each file must be smaller than 2MB. If you want to update your photo or fingerprint details, you must go to the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centre in person.
