A Special Court for People’s Representatives has rejected the bail application filed by former MP and suspended JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna for the second time, seeking bail in the rape case involving a housemaid.
According to the Bar and Bench report, Trial court judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat rejected the plea. Earlier, Revanna tried to get bail but did not get it. Later, he filed a bail plea in the High Court, citing a delay in the trial. On July 9, High Court Justice SR Krishna Kumar directed him to first go to the trial court and said that if needed, he can come to the High Court again.

FIRs were registered against Revanna as the prime accused in four cases last year. As many as 2,900 video clips had surfaced, which contained scenes of sexual assault of several women, and these clips were circulated on the internet, including on social media platforms.
The first complaint was filed in April 2024 by a domestic help who worked at Revanna’s family’s farmhouse. She alleged that Revanna raped her repeatedly and threatened to make the videos public if she told anyone. These incidents reportedly started in 2021.
The trial court in this case has framed several serious charges against Revanna, including rape, voyeurism, criminal intimidation, and illegal dissemination of private videos. The court had reserved the verdict on July 18, which will now be pronounced on July 30.
