In a significant operation against terrorists, security forces have killed two unidentified terrorists during a fierce gunfight in the Sagipora area of Sopore, North Kashmir. The operation, which began on Thursday evening, is still ongoing as forces continue to conduct the search operation in the area.
According to a senior police officer speaking to News24, the operation was initiated following specific intelligence inputs that led a joint team of J&K police and army personnel along with paramilitary forces to cordon off the suspected area. Initial searches resulted in an exchange of fire with the terrorists, prompting the security forces to temporarily suspend operations for the night as a precautionary measure.
In an effort to prevent any escape, security forces sealed all exit points surrounding the targeted house. With the break of dawn today, the anti-terrorist operation resumed, leading to intense exchanges of gunfire between the forces and the terrorists.
As of now, security forces have recovered the bodies of the two slain terrorists along with a cache of arms and ammunition. The search operation continues as forces remain vigilant in their pursuit of ensuring safety and security in the region.
Authorities are urging residents to remain calm and stay indoors as there could be any live explosives near the gunfight area, forces are clearing the area from live explosives.

During searches there was some exchange of fire with terrorists, however the operation was suspended for night as precautionary measures.”
Furthermore, “security forces had sealed all the exit points near the targeted house, leaving no chances for terrorists to escape”, Police office said.

Today, with the first light of morning, the anti-terrorist operation was resumed, he added. Intense exchange of fire is going on, in the operation area.
