The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Hisar Police has filed a comprehensive 2,500-page chargesheet in a Hisar court against YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra. The charge sheet accuses her of espionage for Pakistan. The SIT has stated that there is ‘solid evidence’ against her on spying India for Pakistan. Malhotra, who ran her channel the YouTube channel Travel With Jo, was arrested in Haryana’s Hisar on May 16, just days after Operation Sindoor exposed a wider spying network in India.

The chargesheet alleges that Jyoti Malhotra was sharing sensitive information with Pakistani agents over an extended period, maintaining frequent contact with them. Initially, she created blogs and videos like a typical YouTuber, but during a trip to Pakistan, she reportedly connected with intelligence operatives. Hisar Police previously stated that Pakistani intelligence was grooming Malhotra as an asset.

The chargesheet says that Jyoti Malhotra was connected to people linked with the ISI, including Shakir, Hasan Ali, and Nasir Dhillon. The police said she had travelled to Pakistan several times and was in regular contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim, also known as Danish, who worked at the Pakistan High Commission. Danish was expelled from India after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, when the government accused him of leaking details of Indian Army movements. Time Now reports suggest that digital forensic examination of her mobile phone revealed extensive conversations with Ehsan-ur-Rahim Danish Ali. India expelled Danish on May 13 for allegedly indulging in espionage.

After the Pahalgam terror attack, Danish was declared persona non grata by India and was ordered to leave within 24 hours because he leaked sensitive information about the Indian Army’s movements to Pakistan.

NDTV reported that Malhotra went to Pakistan on April 17 last year and returned to India on May 15. Just 25 days later, on June 10, she went to China and stayed in the country till July, going to Nepal after that, according to the chargesheet.

“During the investigation, we have found concrete evidence that the YouTuber was spying for Pakistan,” the report by NDTV said, citing a source.

Where Is Jyoti Now?

Jyoti Malhotra is currently in jail. She was arrested at New Aggarsain Extension and charged under the Official Secrets Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
