In a significant boost to the party, 800 members of the Sikh community joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Delhi today.
The event took place in Delhi with the party’s National General Secretary Tarun Chugh presiding over the proceedings. Also in attendance were BJP leaders such as Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva.
Virendra Sachdeva personally welcomed the new party members and stressed the BJP’s goal of securing all seven parliamentary seats in Delhi in the upcoming elections.
“I extend a warm welcome to all my brothers on behalf of our party. Mr. Sachdeva declared his determination to secure victory in all seven seats in Delhi and support Prime Minister Modi’s leadership for a third term.
Praising the Sikh community, Mr. Sachdeva remarked, “Wherever we see bravery, courage, compassion, and kindness in history, we often find a Sikh at the forefront.”
He also highlighted the influential role of the late Guru Gobind Singh in history.
Mr. Sachdeva Talked About late Guru Gobind Singh
Mr. Sachdeva stated that the late Guru Gobind Singh, who established and fostered the Sikhs, had a mission to combat oppression and tyranny. Their objective is to promote compassion and kindness in society. Today, the entire Sikh community, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, is resolute about advancing India as a developed nation and contributing to its progress.
Mr. Sachdeva praised the Sikh community for consistently providing steadfast support during national crises, highlighting that whenever the nation or society encounters a crisis, the Sikh community has consistently taken the initiative to safeguard and preserve the entire society.
“People often ask me why Sikhs are supporting Modi ji. They support him because, during a distressing 55-year-long period, Sikhs were unjustly labeled as terrorists and killers. Those who used these labels gained power and rewarded individuals who harmed Sikhs by granting them influential positions. However, after Modi ji assumed power, those accountable for the Sikh massacres were incarcerated, and Modi ji welcomed those who cherished Sikhs, acknowledging, ‘Without you, India’s culture and identity are incomplete.’ This represents Modi ji’s affection,” Mr. Sirsa stated.
The electoral process has scheduled voting for all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi on May 25, during the sixth phase. The counting for all seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls will occur on June 4, 2024.
