A video showing a party worker slapping the party president after garlanding him went viral on social media. The incident took place during a public gathering in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district.
According to reports, party worker Brijesh Rajbhar garlanded Mahendra Rajbhar, national president of the Suheldev Swabhiman Party (SSP), and subsequently slapped him. The incident occurred in Ashapur village under Jalalpur police station limits. A programme was organised on the occasion of Maharaja Suheldev's victory day.

After the video went viral, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav wrote on X, "The violent attack on veteran and senior leader Shri Mahendra Rajbhar ji is another condemnable example of the ever-increasing humiliating behavior and atrocities on the 'PDA society' under the BJP rule."

He posted, “ If BJP thinks that it will maintain its divisive politics by breaking a society from within, then it is its misconception. If BJP's negligence is not involved in this attack, then this attacker should be immediately arrested and punished for his act.
Violence is a form of frustration. BJP should remember that such acts will not break the morale of PDA but will make it even more powerful.

Mahendra Rajbhar accused Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) president Om Prakash Rajbhar of conspiring the attack against him. Om Prakash Rajbhar did not make any comment yet on the incident.
Later, Mahendra Rajbhar reached Jalalpur police station and lodged a complaint against Brijesh Rajbhar.
