A 33-year-old worker died, and two of his colleagues were injured after part of a tunnel being constructed for the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway collapsed, police said. The incident took place in Rajasthan.
The deceased has been identified as Shansheer Singh. On Saturday night, while working on a tunnel section of the DME Expressway, the structure suddenly collapsed, trapping them under the debris. The incident occurred in the Modak area of Ramganj Mandi in Rajasthan’s Kota district.
Upon receiving information, a police team rushed to the site, and a rescue operation was launched. “Singh was declared dead at a hospital, while the other workers are undergoing treatment,” said a senior police officer.
A team from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) arrived at the scene and began an investigation with the help of local police. Further inquiries are underway.
