SHOCKING: Doctor allegedly uses fevikwik for sealing 2-year old child’s head wound instead of stitches

In Meerut, a doctor is under investigation for allegedly treating a child's head wound with fevikwik instead of stitches, prompting the family to seek proper care at another hospital.

In a bizarre medical incident in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, a private hospital doctor is under investigation after allegedly treating a child’s bleeding head injury with fevikwik instead of proper medical stitches. The incident took place at Bhagyashree Hospital in the upscale Jagriti Vihar locality.

According to the child’s father, Sardar Jaspinder Singh, his son was playing at home when he accidentally hit his head on a table corner, causing a deep cut. The family rushed him to Bhagyashree Hospital, where they claim the attending doctor instructed them to purchase a small tube of fevikwik and applied it to seal the wound. The boy reportedly continued to cry in pain, but the doctor allegedly dismissed their concerns, saying the child was merely nervous and that the discomfort would subside.

Child later treated at another hospital

The following morning, worried by the persistent pain, the family took the child to Lokpriya Hospital. There, medical staff spent over three hours carefully removing the hardened adhesive before properly stitching the wound. The family expressed concern that the situation could have escalated, particularly if the adhesive had entered the child’s eyes.

Inquiry underway

Meerut Chief Medical Officer Dr. Ashok Kataria confirmed the complaint has been registered and stated that a formal investigation committee has been formed. ‘The child’s family has filed a complaint. An investigation committee has been formed, and action will be taken based on the findings’, he said. The family has also reported the matter to the Chief Minister’s office, highlighting the seriousness of the alleged negligence.
