Shocking Demand: Friend Blackmails Mumbai Businessman, Asks For Rs 80 Lakh Or ‘His Wife’

The accused, identified as John Pereira, had possession of compromising videos and photos of the victim's wife and her friends.

In a shocking incident, a Mumbai-based businessman was blackmailed by his friend for the last six months. The accused has been harassing the businessman and his wife since August 2024 till January 2025. Now, the businessman has lodged a complaint with the police.

The accused, identified as John Pereira, had possession of compromising videos and photos of the victim’s wife and her friends. He threatened the victim, demanding Rs 80 lakh or that he ‘send his wife,’ warning that he would share compromising videos and photos with her family and friends. After enduring six months of harassment, the victim finally approached the Powai police station

He used to make whatsapp calls to the businessman. He also threatened him that he will post the videos on social media too if the demands are not met.

The Mumbai police have registered a case under various sections of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.  The cops registered the case and transferred it to DNS Police station as the incident had taken place in Andheri area. 

The police said that a probe is on and soon they will question the accused. No arrest has been made in the case, so far.
