Shocking! 26-year-old Woman Sexually Assaulted At Bus Depot In Pune, Police Launch Probe

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smarthana Patil, the incident took place on Monday morning when the victim, a working woman, was waiting for a bus to return home.

In a shocking incident, a 26-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at Swargate bus depot in Maharashtra’s Pune. The police have registered a case against the accused.

According to reports, the woman was going to travel to Phaltan. It is reportedly said that a man named Dattatreya Ramdas Gade misled her while asking her to sit in a bus which was parked in the dark. He entered the bus and closed the door. Later, he sexually assaulted her. 

The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused who is on the run. The cops have registered a case at Shikrapur police station.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smarthana Patil, the incident took place on Monday morning when the victim, a working woman, was waiting for a bus to return home.

Zone 2, DCP Smarthana Patil said, “A working woman was waiting for the bus to go back to her home…A man came and said that the bus to your place had been parked somewhere else and took the woman near the parked bus…Then, the man raped the woman…”

The incident has shocked the locals. Moreover, it has raised the question over the safety of women in the city.
