Roshni Songhare, a 27-year-old flight crew member from Dombivli in Maharashtra, was among those killed in tragic Ahmedabad plane crash on Thursday. Her maternal uncle, Praveen Sukhdare in a conversation with News24, expressed deep sorrow over her death and recalled moments of her. He shared that Roshni grew up in their home and began her journey toward her dreams from a small 10-by-10 room. “It was her dream to be become an air hostess,” he said.
Remembering her, Praveen said that she wanted to do something different and spread wings; which she did by becoming flight attendant. Roshni initially worked in Spice Jet for two years and after this she got a job in Air India. He mentioned that her father is a technician.
He added that she had come to her village just two days ago and met her grandparents, uncle and aunt. She even paid visit to the family deity.
“But as soon as she returned home, she got a flight to London and left for back. Her marriage was not fixed yet. About a week ago I spoke to her and I asked her what she thought about marriage. She said, “I will marry the one I like, uncle,” said Praveen.
Praveen further said that Roshni’s mother has not been told anything yet. She is suffering from low blood pressure, so it is not possible to tell anything at the moment.
“His younger brother is on the ship. But now his elder brother, father and other relatives have gone to Ahmedabad. The people of Dombivli have been very supportive,” stated Praveen.
The family has not received any official call from Air India yet. However, some colleagues of Air India are present with the family in Ahmedabad.
