The prime accused in the murder case of Raja Raghuvanshi, Sonam Raghuvanshi, and four other suspects are currently in Police custody. She was produced before a local court in Ghazipur on Monday. Meanwhile, Sonam’s family members and neighbours are still trying to process the shocking revelations made against her. They couldn’t believe her involvement in her husband’s murder.
One of her neighbours, Sapna Solanki, told ANI that she was well-behaved and looked very happy at the time of her wedding. “We don’t think she has done anything like that,” she added. Another neighbour said, “Didi’s (Sonam) nature was very good and she was friendly with all. Everyone calls her ‘Bitti’. I don’t think she has done such a thing…she could only do good things.”
Another resident of her locality expressed grief over Sonam Raghuvanshi’s involvement. She said, “We are very saddened after hearing this today. We never thought this way about her.” On the other hand, the Meghalaya Police have got a three-day transit remand of Sonam Raghuvanshi.
Sonam is the prime accused in her husband Raja Raghuvanshi’s murder. His body was retrieved on June 2 from a gorge near the Weisawdong waterfalls. Sonam, who disappeared on May 23, has finally been found after 17 anguished days. Ghazipur Police arrested her on the grounds that she allegedly hired killers to murder her husband.
Sonam, who hails from Indore, was reportedly located in the early hours of Monday in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur. Indore police took prompt action and immediately departed for Gazipur to nab her after being informed about her. She was found in a dishevelled state. Meanwhile, Sonam Raghuvanshi’s father, Devi Singh, has refuted the allegations against his daughter and demanded a CBI probe.
