The row over the alleged clash between Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and two BJP MPs, Pratap Chandra Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, in Parliament entered its second day. While several leaders from both parties reacted strongly and levelled allegations against each other, Congress Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor also expressed his disappointment over the incident that unfolded yesterday.
What Did The Congress MP Say?
When asked about the incident that has been termed the highlight of the winter session of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor said such an incident shouldn’t have taken place. He added that whatever happens inside Parliament should remain there and should be discussed there only. Everything should be settled inside the premises, and matters shouldn’t be brought out in public.”
Speaking to News 24 Correspondent, Sanjeev Trivedi about the FIR registered against Rahul Gandhi, Tharoor said that the matter shouldn’t have been dragged to court, it’s not right. He added that everyone (MPs) is disappointed as the parliament session couldn’t run smoothly and properly.
Tharoor said that considering the incident, even public has the right to express their disappointment on the matter. “There is no problem participating in the protest march outside parliament, but inside the Parliament, it was on the part of the government to talk to the opposition and resolve the conflict (Baba Ambedkar issue),” added Congress MP Tharoor.’
