Shahberi Flyover Project: Cost, Timeline & More
As per news reports, a Detailed Project Report (DPR), an Expression of Interest(EOI) are expected to be circulated shortly. Prior to the commencement of construction work, the authority has submitted a proposal to the government to approve the budget, allocate funding and select the construction agency.
As part of its objective, a report stated that IIT Roorkee conducted a feasibility study for the flyover project. Apart from traffic, the study also assessed length, soil testing, likely obstacles to construction and more. The flyover is also expected to be wider than 7.5 meters.
To alleviate the growing traffic congestion in Greater Noida West, a new flyover is under construction. Located at the junction of Greater Noida, Noida, and Ghaziabad, the flyover is expected to significantly reduce traffic issues in the region. To address this and other local concerns, the proposal for constructing the flyover on the road connecting Ghaziabad and Shahberi village was put forward.
Still, to put the flyover into action, the Shahberi Flyover has now been approved, even though the project was delayed earlier because the GDA did not want to connect the 2-kilometer-long flyover directly to NH-24. The authority had applied for an NOC to build a 200-meter-long ramp on the flyover, which has now been approved by the GDA. The project also includes covering a drainage channel in Crossing Republic, Ghaziabad. Once vehicles exit the proposed flyover, they will be able to drive smoothly.
