New Delhi: In the latest revelations of the Shahbad Dairy killing, the Delhi Police found that the murder could be premeditated as accused Sahil Sarfaraz had purchased the knife nearly 15 days ago, which he used to kill his 16-year-old girlfriend with. During the questioning, the accused said that he bought the knife about 15 days ago from a weekly market, as per media reports. The knife is yet to be recovered. The police has initiated the investigation and looking into all the possible aspects of the matter. As per the information, police will also investigation if the murder was a "crime of passion" or done on a sudden provocation. The news agency PTI quoted the Delhi informing that the Sahil also claimed that he killed the girl in a fit of rage since she had been ignoring him. “The statements made by him are being verified since it is the initial stage of investigation. Sometimes he says she ignored him as he tried to approach her, which angered him. But he also suspected her getting involved with her former boyfriend," PTI quoted the officer.

Girl bore 34 injuries; skull smashed

Accused Sahil waited for Sakshi for near in Shahbad Dairy area in Delhi's Rohini to murder her. As soon as she arrived there, the accused cornered her and pull out his knife to stab her with for over 20 times. The horrific incident was caught on camera that showed Sahil made several attacks until the girl collapsed. Once she fell on the ground, Sahil kicked her and threw a stab of concrete on her head. The victim had 34 injury marks on her body, while her head was smashed. After committing the murder, the accused fled from the incident spot and reached Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh by road after changing two buses. However, he was caught there by police on Monday night. Meanwhile, the bereaved family has demanded the death penalty for the accused.

Rs 10 lakh gratia to family 

Earlier in the day, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced to grant Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia to the family of the deceased and concerned over the law and order situation of the national capital. He assured to hire the best lawyer to bring justice for Sakshi. "It is a very painful incident. Delhi government will give compensation amount of Rs 10 lakhs to the girl's family and we assure them that our government will ensure that the accused gets the strictest punishment. We are worried about the overall law and order situation in Delhi, said the CM. Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal met victim's family today demanding the harshest punishment.
