New Delhi: After the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) failed to screen the banned BBC documentary ‘India: The Modi Question’ on Jamia Millia Islamia campus, the left-wing students’ union showed the film in a university of West Bengal’s capital Kolkata.

Earlier in the day, the SFI planned to screen the film in the Presidency University, as per the news agency ANI. However, the film started but also halted in a while due to a power cut in the university.

This followed a protest by the members of SFI and other students in a huge number, holding flags in hands demanding to watch the controversial film. However, the screening was continued later for everyone to watch.

Earleir on Thursday, the film was screened in city’s prestigious varsity, Jadhavpur University “peacefully”. Over a hundred students joined the show on the campus to watch the film.

Meanwhile in Delhi, the students’ union show the film but failed “terribly” as many were detained while protesting to let the documentary be screened, as reported earlier.

The Delhi Police arrested several students hours before the screening of the controversial film. After which, a protest broke out in solidarity of the detainees which followed a huge brawl at the prestigious varsity.

In the latest, there was an attempt on the campus of the Delhi University to screen the documentary. However, it ended up in a ruckus inside the campus.

The Delhi Police beefed up the scurity before the screening. Later, several videos came up where the police and students were confronting each other over watching the film in the uiversity.
