A hundred people are reportedly still believed to be stranded in the water as a result of the suspension bridge collapsing.
A historic building that was constructed many years ago is the Morbi cable bridge. It was only recently, on October 26, in time for the Gujarati New Year, after repairs and renovations.
According to reports, the government awarded the Oreva Group, owned by Odhavji Patel, the contract for the refurbishment work.
