Security forces fatally shot two militants during a skirmish in a wooded area of Doda district in Jammu & Kashmir on Wednesday.
A confrontation erupted at around 9:50 am in Bajaad village, Gandoh area, Jammu & Kashmir, as security forces, including the police, Army, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), intensified their search and cordon operations. This followed twin terrorist assaults in the mountainous district on June 11 and 12, according to officials cited by the PTI.
On June 11, six security personnel sustained injuries during a terrorist attack on a joint check post at Chattargalla. The following day, terrorists injured a policeman in a gunfight at Kota top in the Gandoh area.

In response to the twin attacks, security forces escalated their counter-terrorism operations and offered a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh each for four Pakistani terrorists suspected of infiltrating and operating in the district.
According to the official, a police operation assisted by security forces in the village of Sinoo panchayat encountered heavy gunfire from concealed terrorists.
The exchange of fire was ongoing at the time of the latest reports, they added.
