According to a senior police officer who spoke to News24, the encounter began during a fierce exchange of fire between the security forces and the terrorists. “One terrorist has been killed in the initial exchange of fire so far,” the officer confirmed. The identity of the slain terrorist will be determined once the operation concludes.

The operation commenced when a joint team comprising JK Police, the Army, and the CRPF launched a cordon and search operation following intelligence reports of terrorist activity in the area. As the forces moved towards the suspected location, the hiding terrorist opened fire, prompting a swift response that led to the ongoing operation.

Sources indicate that multiple terrorists have been spotted in the vicinity, prompting security forces to intensify their operations to track them down. This encounter follows another significant operation in which two foreign terrorists were killed in Sagipora, Sopore, just a day prior.

The search operation in Rampora is currently ongoing as security forces remain vigilant in their efforts to ensure no more terrorists are hiding in the area.
