During the night of May 7 and 8, the Pakistani army repeatedly breached Indian airspace across the western border in an attempt to strike military installations. In addition, it launched heavy-calibre weapon attacks along the Line of Control. An estimated 300 to 400 drones were deployed in infiltration attempts at 36 different sites.
Simultaneously, security measures have been initiated in the National Capital Region. Responding to rising security concerns in Gurugram, the district administration has taken stringent steps by imposing a comprehensive ban on various activities from May 9 to July 7, 2025. This prohibition has been enforced under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2023.
As quoted by News 18, District Magistrate, Ajay Kumar stated, “The step has been taken in view of the recent terror activities and security threats. Security agencies are on high alert after the Pahalgam attack and we have to be vigilant to thwart any possible threat.”

Authorities have issued a stern warning that anyone found violating the order will face strict legal action under Section 223 of the BNS. The district administration has urged all residents to comply with the directive and support ongoing security measures.
