Scuffle In Mumbai Society Meeting; Chairman Cuts Off Member's Thumb, Gets Arrested

A shocking incident occurred in Dahisar, Mumbai, where the president of Amarnath Apartment allegedly cut off a society member’s thumb. Due to an infection, the entire thumb may need to be amputated. Following a complaint, the police have registered a case against the president at MHB Police Station.

This incident took place during a society meeting. Aditya Desai, a 42-year-old professor and flat owner in the society, raised his tenant’s complaints at the meeting. According to Desai, his tenant often returns late at night.

Chairman Nityanand Padiyar, aged 67, instructed the security guard to close the gate, which causes inconvenience for the tenants. Desai brought up this issue during the meeting and threatened to file an online complaint with the police.

This angered Nityanand Padiyar, who pushed Desai to the ground and began assaulting him. During the scuffle, Padiyar allegedly bit Desai’s left thumb so hard that it was severed.

Desai was immediately taken to the nearest hospital in Mumbai, where doctors said the infection is so severe that his entire thumb might need to be amputated. After Desai filed a complaint, the MHB police registered a case against Nityananda Manjunath Padiyar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
