Schools in Delhi, Gurgaon, and Noida remained closed from October 19 to 23, 2025, for Diwali celebrations. As per the school circular regarding Holiday break in Delhi, Gurugram, and Noida, the schools will re-open from October 24 after Diwali celebrations. However, some private schools in Noida will remain closed tomorrow. Here the schools will open on 28th of October, Monday. There are also reports that some schools may extend the break until October 28 to observe Chhath Puja. Parents and students are advised to check official school notifications for accurate reopening dates and updated holiday schedules. Parents will also be notified via the school’s WhatsApp class groups.
School Holidays- Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh government has already extended the Diwali holidays, keeping schools closed until 23 October 2025. As per the current status, UP government hasn’t announced any holiday on October 24. Most of the schools in the state will reopen on Friday. However, a few private schools have announced a holiday for tomorrow. Schools will remain closed till Chhath Puja. Parents and students are advised to check official school notifications for latest holiday updates.
The official break began on Monday, October 20, and ended on Thursday, October 23, while the total holiday period, including the preceding Sunday, spans five consecutive days. This celebratory break applies to the entire state, allowing students to enjoy the festivities with their families.
School Holidays- Rajasthan, J&K
Rajasthan schools will remain closed till October 24, 2025, and schools in the Jammu division will observe holidays from October 19 to November 2. The classes will resume on November 3, 2025. Schools in Rajasthan have the longest holiday break of about 12 days.

In Bihar, Diwali holidays started on October 18 and continued for several days. Chhath Puja is considered to be a major festival of the state. Hence, most of the schools will remain closed till Chhath Puja and are expected to open on October 28. However, parents are advised to check with the school authorities.
Rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh – Schools closed in TN
Karnataka is experiencing heavy rain across all its districts. People are wondering if schools will be closed on October 24, 2025, because of the rain. The IMD has warned that both Coastal Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka may have heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds on that day.
As of October 23, 2025, the districts of Udupi, Shimoga, Dakshin Kannada, Kodagu, and Chikmagalur are under an orange alert, while the rest of the districts have a yellow alert. IMD has predicted that there is a chance of getting heavy rain alongside thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls on October 24, 2025.
