Among them, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were the most affected, while Odisha also closed schools due to the cyclone alert. Now, what is the situation in the rain-affected areas? Monday: Are schools closed on November 3?

After Cyclone Montha caused severe damage, Andhra Pradesh is not expected to get much rain immediately. The India Meteorological Department in Amaravati said that the weather in most parts of the state will stay mostly calm for the next few days.

Since the cyclone has moved away, there is no major weather change expected on November 1, 2025 (Saturday). From November 2, 2025 (Sunday) onwards, thunderstorms may slowly start again — first in Rayalaseema and later in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and South Coastal Andhra Pradesh on November 3 and 4.

Schools in Andhra Pradesh is gradually moving to normal. Though schools were closed on Saturday, Monday is expected to be a working day for the schools in Andhra Pradesh. However, as the IMD has predicted a potential rainfall and thunderstorms, schools may see closure on that day. District wise update will be available on the official school website. What about schools turn into relief camps in Andhra Pradesh

School Holiday, November 3, Monday: Owing to the impact of cyclone Montha, around 10,000 people have been moved to hundreds of relief camps set up in schools and government offices across several districts in Andhra Pradesh. This is another reason why school wasn’t opening for days as people were accommodated in schools. However situations is supposed to be normal from tomorrow.

Schools closed in Tamil Nadu on Monday, November 3

As there are no heavy rain forecast for November 3, Monday, Regular classes will be held in the schools of Tamil Nadu. Montha cyclone alert have also ended in the state. However, IMD had predicted light rain for the next whole week. If it gets converted to heavy rain, chances of closing the schools are higher in districts which will witness the heavy rain. As of now, no closures for schools are announced in Tamil Nadu. District wise update will be available on the official school website. Will schools open in Odisha on November 3?

School Holiday, November 3, Monday: The declared holiday related to the cyclone Montha alert ended on October 31. all schools, anganwadi centres, and colleges in Odisha’s Gajapati district were closed until October 30 due to Cyclone Montha. However, no announcements on school closure is been made in the state. In Odisha also many schools are been operated as relief centers. Parents should consider that the schools in the state will be opening on Monday. If any alert on heavy rains are made by IMD, district authorities will be declaring holidays. School authorities will also update the status through WhatsApp groups. Parents are advised to check for the latest update on school portal and WhatsApp group.

Will Schools Remain Closed in Telangana

School Holiday, November 3, Monday: Schools, colleges in several districts of Telangana remained holiday on Friday, October 31 due to cyclone Montha. Districts of Khammam, Bhadradri and Kothagudem are likely to witness heavy rainfall, and schools in these districts were shut today. As the climatic conditions remain unchanged, district authorities may close the educational institution next week also.
